The Elder Statesman

As Junior Art Director at The Elder Statesman, I designed an e-commerce website from scratch starting with mockups to working daily with a developer to launch. The site includes advanced features such as video integration, pop-out functions, and an extensive custom embroidery portal. I created the script fonts featured on the site from my own handwriting.

select placement

The portal is an advanced way of automating custom requests for embroidery. After selecting the color and size of the sweater to be customized, the portal prompts a choice in placement of the embroidery.

select characters

The character selection step is similar to the functionality of a carousel post on Instagram. After clicking on a character, the number order is shown in the top left corner of the keyboard. This view shows the embroidery “HI ☺”.

select thread color

In the final steps, you choose the thread color from a list of hex represented options. The portal is customizable on the backend to allow for updates in thread inventory. The last step is a confirmation of your customization with an “Add to cart” button.
